Super nice J1772 charging inlet machined from billet Aluminum is built to last. Adopting the SAE charging standard immediately wins you access to the extensive North American Level 1 and 2 charging infrastructure popping up all around us, while making it safer to charge, in general.
- Watertight, sealed mating hardware allows charging outside in any weather
- High voltage pins are isolated (touch safe) when not charging
- Charging handle deactivated when not charging (could be dropped into a puddle)
- Thus no electrical arcing when plugging in, dramatically prolonging hardware life
- Readily disassembles with snap ring pliers (see pics #4 and #5) which facilitates welding, etc, if desired.
Includes 3-foot wire pigtail. The AVC2 controller to activate the J1772 protocol can be found , if needed. This controller contains a relay that can be used to disable the drive system while charging, thus preventing the possibility of driving away from the charging station while still plugged in
